He is smaller in size (about 20 lbs) and is very lean and well shaped. Jackson is a very playful dog, as are all pugs and quite the little clown. He loves to snuggle and simply couldn't have a sweeter personality or disposition. Jackson is very social and non-aggressive and gets along famously with not only our other dogs, but any dog he meets. We absolutely love Jackson and couldn't ask for a better dog.THE PUGThe origin of the Pug as a dog breed probably begins a long time ago in ancient China, although itcertainly did not look the same as today's Pugs. Dogs known as "short mouthed" dogs are described inwritings that date to around 600 years BC and were likely the forerunners of todays modern breed thatwe call the Pug. Emperor Kang Hsi, about 950 AD, commissioned a dictionary of all the Chinesecharacters, and in it there are two references that could be describing the Pug: "dogs with short legs"and "a dog with a short head". By the 1300s there were three separate types of dogs that areidentifiable as founders of breeds of today: the Pekingese, the Japanese Spaniel, and the Pug. Itwasn't until the end of the 1500s and early 1600s that China began trading with European countriessuch as Portugal, Spain, Holland and EnglandSherman (aka: Shermie”) is the newest addition to the Pugglesville crew. It cannot be stressed enough how cute this guy is. We’re pretty sure he knows it too. We’re also pretty sure he thinks he runs the place already. We are expecting great things from Shermie, but he won’t be ready to really take charge for several more months..
